Course Overview

<p class="font_8">In this module we will talk about what mindset is. A word used in so many contexts - yet, are we really clear on its definition? Do we truly understand how mindset is connected to our heart, our soul, our thoughts, beliefs and subsequently our behaviour and our actions?&nbsp;</p>

<p class="font_8">Your mindset is made up of your personal set of beliefs. Think of it as a backpack of beliefs, that you have kept filling since you were really little.&nbsp;</p>
<p class="font_8"><br></p>
<p class="font_8">You have developed them since you were around two years old. Ever since then you have been using your backpack of beliefs in your life journey filled with unique behaviours, thoughts and decisions on your path. A belief could for instance be:</p>

  <li><p class="font_8">Having a psychologist is for those who are weak.</p></li>
  <li><p class="font_8">Not having a 9-5 job means I'm lazy and unproductive.</p></li>
  <li><p class="font_8">Eating too much fruits will make me gain weight.</p></li>
  <li><p class="font_8">My clothes are key to being seen as a professional.</p></li>
  <li><p class="font_8">I'm not creative, because I was never good at arts.&nbsp;</p></li>

<p class="font_8">Often in life we make the consuming goal of proving ourselves to others. Proving ourselves to others is often the goal that directs our behaviour, as we feel the need to show a reflection of our intelligence, to highlight our worthiness for a career or our capability to function in a relationship.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="font_8">We unconsciously ask for constant confirmation of our intelligence, our personality and our character.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="font_8">We evaluate our life's success based on our belief systems such as:&nbsp;</p>

  <li><p class="font_8">If I would manage to get this degree, I will be happy, because I can get a better job and better pay.</p></li>
  <li><p class="font_8">If I would do all the housework for my partner, he/ she will love and appreciate me more.</p></li>
  <li><p class="font_8">I would be a better mum/ dad when I stop being stressed.</p></li>
